Kpop News: ‘Superstar K6’ contestant Song Yu Bin to debut as a solo artist before debuting as an Idol

On May 11, Song Yu Bin's label, Music Works, released a statement about Song Yu Bin's debut in a new boy group next year. Music Works stated, "We are planning to debut a new boy group toward the beginning of next year. The name of the group has been set as Mighteen (Working name)."

Music Works added, "Song Yoo Bin will join this group and is hard at work preparing for it, as well as his solo album. The solo album may be scheduled for release at the end of May or the beginning of June." Allkpop reported.

Song Yoo Bin will be releasing his first digital single entitled "It's You to the Bone" in collaboration with BTOB's Minhyuk. The official release of the said album will be sometime this month.

Song Yoo Bin joined his agency Music Works during the beginning of the year. Because of talent and looks, he was offered to work with various agencies but decided to end up joining with Music Works with fellow music artist Baek Ji Young. Song Yoo Bin was able to make it into the top 4 of "Superstar K6' despite his young age as a high school student. With his good looks and talent, he garnered popularity as a finalist in the show.

'Superstar K6' is the sixth current season of the South Korean television talent show series Superstar K, which premiered on 22 August 2014 on Mnet and airs every Friday night at 11PM KST. Eliminations are determined in every episode, based on text message votes and online votes that are open to the entire public.

It was first held in 2009, Superstar K has increasingly gained more attention, considered the biggest audition program in South Korea.
