iPhone 7 News and Rumors

Recent leaks indicate that the upcoming iPhone 7 will feature the same screen size as iPhone 6s. Apple might also correct some serious design errors from its previous handsets. However, the dummy photo of iPhone 7 also slams several rumors out there, contradicting many reports and questioning the authenticity of others. If the dummy photo is indeed true, then this year's iPhone 7 may not really be as new as anticipated.

A photo obtained by Mac Rumors reveals a silver iPhone 7 case that has the same design as iPhone 6s. However, some design changes such as smoothened camera, fitted into the rear cover makes the phone appear slicker. The antennas at the top and bottom have a single line that smoothens along the edges. Moreover, the picture also shows a three-dot pattern at the bottom of the casing that indicates where the smart connector will be placed. From the looks of it, seems like headphone jack will not make an entry with the new iPhone. If you place the iPhone 6s upside down, in the same position as dummy iPhone 7, it would make the 3.5mm headset appear on the bottom side near the lower right corner. This seems to be missing from the upcoming device.

However, it is important to note that this image is not consistent with previous reports. Firstly, the leaked schematic suggested that the rear camera will be bigger and will be positioned closer to the top-left corner. Recent reports also revealed that the phone will not have a Smart Connector and that the 3.5mm headphone jack is not going anywhere.

Rumors aside, when similar dummy photos came up when iPhone 6 was released in 2014, they were absolutely genuine and the handset was exactly as speculated. It is possible that the same might happen with iPhone 7 too.
