Drew Barrymore spoke about her divorce from husband Will Kopelman on the premiere of Chelsea Handler's new Netflix talk show, Chelsea. She was finding it very tough to come to terms with what she considers to be a huge "failure" in her life, although she admitted she's been humbled by the support she's received from friends and fans.

"When you break up with somebody, you're like, 'Yeah, that didn't work,' [but] when you get divorced you're like, 'I'm the biggest failure. This is the biggest failure,'" Barrymore told Handler E! News. "It's so shameful and hard to actually go through that, even privately."

"It's a tough time. It's a hard thing to go through. It's like your being put on a cheese grater and every second, going, 'Ah! This wasn't the plan!'" the star continued.

She also revealed that she's been lucky for loads of support, "There has been this really nice feeling of something very fluid and positive and the opposite of how I felt inside," the actress said. "Everyone has just been so cool and chill and nice about everything that it quelled my own fears and demons about how we sort of have to go through things in life."

"What I do want is girlfriend time," she revealed. Sources close to Barrymore confirmed to Us Weekly she felt like a "failure" earlier this month, and said both she and husband Kopelman were very sad that their nearly 4-year marriage was ending in divorce.

"She's disappointed this didn't work," a close to the parents of daughters Olive, 3, and Frankie, 23 months told Us. "They both expected to be together forever." However, their expectations will not last long.
