Google is testing a new change for Search Results?

Google always want their hardware and software end to look in the best possible way. This makes it obvious that the Mountain View search giants are under constant developments for their applications especially since Google is the parent of Android OS post-acquisition.

 Google are now testing new ways for search results on a pretty bigger scale. One important change that I already noticed is the fact that search results which have already been visited(the links) will now turn black instead of pale purple of dark blue etc. It seems unlikely that the changes will be permanent unless there's some significant benefits in approaching in such a fashion. But this has only gathered a lot of backlash from a lot of Google users and now they are actually considering it for a roll-back.

Seems like for now, the only visible changes are changes to colors of search result link headings while under the header remain the same; green for links and black for text descriptions. But however, it's pretty evident that Google puts a lot of effort into the color they use from the swatch. A few years ago the company started testing different shades of blue for its results, a decision that ultimately made the company an extra $200 million. The firm spent a few months on testing navigation buttons that were blue instead of red. In the end, you can guess what happened, they finally decided on the blue. This might actually benefit Google but not their engineers.

"It's true that a team at Google couldn't decide between two blues, so they're testing 41 shades between each blue to see which performs better," reported Doug Bowman, an ex Google designer, in a public statement he made when he left in 2009. "I can't operate in an environment like that. I've grown tired of debating such miniscule design decisions. There are more exciting design problems in this world to tackle." he said.
