Last Friday, WWE has just staved off a number of familiar faces off the roster as the wrestling promotions absorbed a couple of young talents from NXT in an effort to add freshness to their programming.

To make a now crowded roster lean, it released eight of its superstars to clear room as part of its regular 'spring cleaning' as per Forbes Magazine report. These pro wrestlers include Damien Sandow, King Barrett, Cameron, Zeb Colter, Hornswoggle, Santino Marella, El Torito and Alex Riley who stayed with the promotions for quite some time.

Of course, it does not seem fun to see these starts axed from their jobs as they, too, like any other superstar, contributed much to entertain fans. Some of these releases have been quite disappointing as WWE doesn't seem to know how to put such good talents to good use.

Following the news of his release, some fans felt that Damien Sandow deserved better. Sandow fell victim to WWE Creative's misuse for whatever gimmick handed to him. The promotion thrust upon him a number of characters like the Intellectual Savior, Stunt Double, and Unwashed Masses for which he completely immersed and played well as per Bleacher Report.

Despite fans' extreme delight over his past performances, WWE Creative didn't seem to know how to invest well in his talent and instead chose the easier way of removing him from the lineup to shed off some expenses. Sandow was last seen on Monday night's Raw on May 2 as he competed as the No. 1 contender for the US championship in a battle royal.

Meanwhile, Barrett was the biggest name included on the 'spring cleaning' list confirmed by WWE. He had five intercontinental championship titles to his name in his almost a decade stay with the company. He was last seen on April 4's episode of 'Raw' as member of the League of Nations heel team before he got ejected from the group during his last appearance, Denver Post reported.
