So far, CBS has not made any announcement about the renewal of "Supergirl" for second season. However, it looks like that the fans have nothing to worry as the show is rumored to continue and move on to The CW.

"Supergirl" released in fall of 2015 and didn't manage to break the charts, so to speak. However, this is not enough to say that the show isn't doing well. It received an instant bump in the ratings when it featured "The Flash" crossover. This means that the show has a very good chance of being renewed for its second season.

According to recent reports, the it is possible that "Supergirl" will move from CBS network to The CW and the discussion is already underway. This makes absolute sense as The CW has young target audience who enjoy watching superhero series. Even "The Flash" series are shown on The CW. However, as per a network insider, there are no ongoing talks between the two for moving from CBS to The CW.

The show producers promise that if and when the show is renewed, it will shed some more light on the mysterious character in the pod shown in season 1 finale. Even though the show runners know exactly who to feature in the pod, they want the fans to keep guessing. There is also a possibility that the producers may feature the Jeremiah Danvers angle which will make up a big part of season 2.

Another interesting report suggests that Superman, Clark Kent, will also show up in "Supergirl," if renewed. "It will always be a dream of ours to be able to have Clark or Superman on the show," Andrew Kreisberg, the show's executive producer, said. He added, "Hopefully with continued success, that opportunity will one day present itself."
