According to news reports, Microsoft put a discount of $200 on Surface Pro 3 and $150 on Surface Pro 4. However, reduced prices is not the only reason why Surface Pro 5 will not be launching this year. Tech giant is planning to make their Surface Pro 4 a bigger hit in the market. It has only been six months since the hybrid laptop launched and has been received well so far. However, due to bugs and glitches in the Surface Pro 4 software, it didn't attain the level it deserves. To undo the wrong, Microsoft unveiled an update for Surface Pro 4 to fix the bugs and other issues.

Surface Pro 5, on the other hand, will come equipped with an improved Intel processor, Kaby Lake and will probably launch in the last quarter of 2016.

Rumor has it that Microsoft has decided to wait for their latest OS to launch the upcoming Surface Pro 5, even if that means that they have to defer the release date until next year.

According to Microsoft, they plan to present an even better hybrid laptop with their Surface Pro 5. Not only will it feature Kaby Lake, Surface Pro 5 will have a USB 3.1 support and come equipped with USB Type-C. Users can also expect improved 4K video playback experience. There are also rumors about rechargeable stylus that will come along with the laptop.
