The WWE is a business that rewards its performers well and needless to say, it all boils down to a variety of factors when it comes to the actualy remuneration that a wrestler gets. Currently, WWE star Ryback is embroiled in a contract dispute with the company since he is unhappy with the salary that he has been offered in his fresh contract by the company and in fact, he penned his thoughts on the issue in a blog post on the website Tumbler. What might come as a bit of a shock to wrestling fans is the fact that it has been speculated that the star was asked to leave and pack his bags on 2nd May by the company till he could make his mind up on the contract. Ryback was scheduled to take part in a Battle Royale on that day but did not do so and instead went home.

He is often used as an opponent in order to make sure that the big stars actually look strong wrestlers in the ring and that is primarily the reason why he is probably paid less than the top earners in the business. However, in his post, Ryback campaigned for greater equality in pay. He wrote, "Wrestling is pre determined, we as performers know before we go out to that ring or perform a backstage scene who is winning and losing etc or have a general idea of what we are going to say. It blows my mind how in a sport which is pre determined from a company standpoint winners are paid so much more than the losers. Every single person who works for WWE from top to bottom is absolutely just as valuable as the next. The winners cannot win unless the losers go out there and agree to lose to them."

He went on to state that although he does not feel that he deserves the same sort of payment as the real show stoppers in the business, the difference in pay scale should be minimised as much as possible. The rest of his explosive post can be accessed here
