Tesla Motors founder and CEO Elon Musk often takes pride in bragging that his company doesn't know anything but fast cars. When it comes to breaking speed limits, Tesla cars often epitomize pure acceleration at supercar level performance for a highly reasonable price compared to the more expensive machines churning out from its rivals' sweatshops.

In the past few months, YouTube has been filled with race videos comparing a Tesla Model S against all other luxury fast cars available in the market today such as the Lamborghini Aventador and McLaren 650s Spider. Ridiculously, some self-professed car experts would even go as far as pitting Model S against a Boeing 737- a bit too far indeed.

Now that the Model S and X comes with an insane upgrade called Ludicrous Mode, the car accelerating from 0 to 60 in a matter of 2.8 to 3.2 seconds in pure raw acceleration is an impressive feat that will surely give its more hefty-priced rivals a run for their money.

Quite recently, Tesla seemed to have done quite a good machine job on its crossover SUV Model X as it appeared in a number of drag racing videos lately. In a YouTube video, Tesla P90D Model X in Ludicrous mode is being pitted against a pricey Ferrari F430.

"As a quick point of interest, a Model X in Ludicrous mode can go from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, can complete a quarter-mile in just 11.7 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph. By way of contrast, a Ferrari F430 can reach a top speed of 196 mph and can go from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds," wrote Yoni Heisler of BGR. Not bad for an SUV battling a mighty Ferrari sports car.

Meanwhile, Model 3 prototype has just debuted although the cars will not be available until next year. With ludicrous acceleration capabilities, customers are wondering how Model 3 will perform in Ludicrous Mode.

"In terms of expected figures, it's way too early to surmise. Tesla hasn't even announced what batteries will end up in the Model 3, let alone any performance figures to go along with that. Suffice it to say, there will likely be several different capacities on offer, and dual-motor all-wheel-drive is likely in the cards, as well," wrote Tim Stevens of CNET's Road Show column.

The much-awaited Model 3 car was officially announced by the end of March with a fairly reasonable price of $35,000 with over 300, 000 pre-orders. As per Engadget, the sleek designed-car will have 215 miles of range, autopilot assistance, and a supercharger support.
