Sara Ramirez playing the role of Dr. Callie could have just announced her exit from Grey's Anatomy as she recently sounded like she is making her way out of the show.

After her playing the role of Dr. Callie for 12 years, Sara expressed her gratitude on Twitter in a way that it seemed that she is moving out of the character.

Having proved her mettle for 12 years, fans are however not convinced of the fact that the phasing out of the character is for good, and are therefore freaked out at her sudden revelation on Twitter. The worry behind the exit of the doctor's character seemed logical as that followed the trend of Shonda Rhimes removing characters, specifically those who worked at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

This is not the only reason of the anxiety amongst fans - the tweet from Sara came at the same time as the breaking of the news that someone is going to die soon on the show. This, if true, would bring another catastrophic ends to veteran characters after Derek Shepherd was killed last year. However, it is not pertinent that the exit of a character can only be via death, though this has been the fate with doctors based out of Seattle.

Going by the plot, Sara has a swift exit route as the character, Callie, player by Sara, is in a fix on whether to permanently move to New York with her love, Penny. However, the disagreement is with her daughter Sofia on whether she would take her along to New York, or leave her with Arizona. Fans waiting to see the reconciliation of Callie and Arizona are sort of confused about the fate of the couple, in case Sara moves out of the show.

Adding to it, with Sara's contract ending in June with no news of extension, the reaction from fans cannot be termed extravagant.
