Amy Schumer nearly lost her life in a terrible surfing accident. Indeed, the world would have been deprived of a lot of humor if she wouldn't have survived the mishap!

The surfing accident took place when Amy Schumer was in high school. She revealed the details of the accident recently during an interview for Vanity Fair's May edition.

The star opened up to reveal how she nearly lost her life during a surfing session while she was in school. However, she thankfully escaped death and was just left with a bad scar on her leg.

The scar wasn't a small one either. Schumer had to get more than forty stitches on her leg that spanned across three layers of tissues. During the interview, she explained how the fin went into her leg and she has to manage the injury all by herself.

Since the accident took place during the winters, nobody was there in particular on the beach to help the high schooler. She limped all the way back to the shore by herself before finally finding a man at the beach who helped her.

The man held Schumer's leg with bare hands. She saw blood and fat coming out of her leg. Despite all the pain, she recalls saying funnily that she isn't feeling cold, but has a hole in her leg as she saw people putting tons of towels on her leg.

Soon, Schumer's father arrived at the beach and saw her daughter surrounded by a group of onlookers. The thought of the injury did not scare Schumer as she kept making jokes about it at that particular moment.

Today, Schumer is thankful to the man who helped her at the beach and held her leg close. She remembers him as a beautiful man with long hair and blue toe nail polish.
