Current NBA MVP title holder Stephen Curry has been absent from Golden State Warriors' playoff games recently. So far, information is scarce as to the extent of the star players' injury and what it means for the team's ascent to greatness following their record-breaking season with 73 wins.

After slipping and spraining his knee during his team's first round in the playoff series, head coach Steve Kerr is adamant to keep him off from the court until he finally heals just in time for the finals- if they make it out of the playoffs of course.

However, Warriors recently announced that Curry should be back in two weeks after he recovers from sprained right MCL following Game 4 win over the Houston Rockets. He would still be medically re-evaluated although the three-point scorer maintained confidence that he'll return to the court as soon as possible.

"From our perspective, relatively good news...I was with him at the MRI today and he was pleased at the outcome. We said two weeks, but that's no guarantee that it will be in two weeks, might be after two weeks, might be before," said Warriors GM Bob Myers as per ESPN report.

"But I think it will be somewhere in that range, hopefully," the general manager added saying that Curry's knee is 'mechanically intact'.

How long Curry will miss out the Warriors' games will surely spell the difference between the team cementing itself as a championship-dynasty-in-the-making or just another team trying to repeat the glorious Chicago Bulls winning streak. For many, his absence is a source of uncertainty.

"There was so much of that dreaded uncertainty because the Warriors are simply not the same team without Curry. It's not only that he averaged 30 points per game in the regular season. Curry is central to every iota of the Warriors," wrote Ben Cohen of Wall Street Journal.

He further noted, "It's his remarkable shooting ability from almost anywhere in the halfcourt that bends the dimensions of the court and makes Golden State unstoppable."

Nevertheless, the defending NBA champion is not losing hope. Medical reports indicate that Curry only suffered a Grade 1 sprain, the mildest type, which only 'involves micro tears of a ligament'.

"I'd say it's one of the best-case scenarios, because he does not need surgery and it'll recover completely on its own," remarked orthopedic and sports medicine expert Alexis Colvin, who was speaking in general with no direct knowledge of Curry's case as reported by the New York Times.

"It depends on how quickly he feels up to speed. But he's in good shape to begin with, and it's not a very severe injury."
