Nathan McClain, earlier co-owner of the Zany Zoo Pet Store in Oregon got arrested Thursday after investigators found that he had paid a sex worker money from a Girl Scout cookie jar and also left behind an exotic primate.

Hence, after dipping from a charity jar, he tipped her generously with a Galago, better known as a bush baby, priced at $2,500.

It was in early March that his wife, Abbie McClain, who also owned the Zany Zoo, reported that a number of valuable items were missing from the pet shop, which included store funds totaling up to $7,000, a laptop computer and the exotic Galago monkey named Gooey.

Gooey was finally found on March 17 with a woman at a local hotel, who was the prostitute that Nathan McClain hired. She admitted that she had been tipped with Gooey. She was an out-of-state prostitute who had visited the suspect.

She eventually gave up the pet to a sanctuary until it could get back to the Zany Zoo Pet Store.

Nathan McClain was arrested on March 19, after he was seen leaving an adult store, looking as if he was under methamphetamine. When he was questioned on March 21, he did seem to be under the influence of the drug, say the police.

Detective Rick Lowe noted that they had delayed the arrest to give the pet shop an opportunity to shift their shop. "Out of respect for the store, I delayed the arrest date until yesterday," Lowe said.

Abbie, his wife, has removed all his links with the family's business. She announced on their Facebook Page that they have suffered, so she would be removing her husband's name from business and bank accounts.

"Nathan McClain will have no further association with Zany Zoo. Nathan's potential wrongdoing has no bearing on our ability to care for our animals and customers," she wrote.
