Kdrama News: Actor Gong Yoo confirmed to cast in “Descendants of the Sun” writer’s new drama ‘Goblin’

There were reports about the casting of a new drama by "Descendants of the Sun" writer Kim Eun Sook that involves the Actor Gong Yoo.

Recently, Gong Yoo is confirmed to lead the new project handed by "Descendants of the Sun" writer Kim Eun Sook.

Kim Eun Sook revealed, " I've always had high expectations of the actor Gong Yoo and been looking forward to work with him. Due to his schedule before, we didn't get the right chance to work together; I've always wanted to work with Gong Yoo on a romantic-comedy. When we met at a personal gathering, I came up with some thoughts of how perfect and certain is Gong Yoo; that he is the right actor to portray as the main character for 'Goblin'. I'm very thankful that he accepted the offer. It will be a fun [great] experience.(allkpop)

This drama will be the small screen return of the actor Gong Yoon. Since the past 4 years, the actor was only focusing his appearance on the big screen and now making his comeback as the main character for 'Goblin'

Gong Yoo is best known for his drama's 'Coffee Prince' (2007) and 'Big' (2012).

Meanwhile, Director Yoon Ha Rim declared, "We prepared for this drama for 3 years, ahead of the making of the drama "Descendants of the Sun". This drama will be about goblin which is a very usual setting in a traditional fiction tales but haven't been used as the main topic for dramas. With the help of writer Kim Eun Sook, this will be an added list of her representation for romantic-comedies. 'Goblin' will start its filming after the completion of the casts. I know this will be a different kind of drama for the viewers. Please look forward to it." (soompi)

This drama tells about a story of a goblin, who's looking for a mortal bride for him to end his eternal life, and a grim reaper who suffers amnesia. They happened to work together to help the dead pass in the next world.

"Goblin" is set to air in November on tvN.
