Michael Keaton seems to be obsessed with playing a comic character. Rumors are that the former Batman is in talks to appear in the upcoming movie, Spider-man: Homecoming.

While the Batman versus Spider-man battle is still on, Michael Keaton seems to be least affected by it. Batman is a famous DC Comics character and the rights for the movie are owned by Warner Bros. On the other hand, Spider-man is a Marvel comics character and the new Tom Holland Spider-man film is being produced collaboratively by Sony and Marvel Studios according to reports.

Vulture/Adrian Toomes is, by far, the only villain speculated to be included in Spider-man: Homecoming. Anyone who observes Keaton closely would realize that he bears striking resemblance to the villain Vulture. Keaton with shaved head would actually look even more like the villain.

Keaton had earlier played the role of a fictional winged superhero in Birdman. There is one thing common between his previous stint with Batman movie and his upcoming role of the Vulture in Spider-man: Homecoming. Bats, birds and vultures are all aerial animals and Keaton seems to love the role of a costumed man with wings.

Keaton was recently nominated for Best Actor at Academy Awards for his role in Birdman. He also won a Golden Globe for his breakthrough performance. Apart from Birdman, Keaton has done small roles in several movies, including Need for Speed, Toy Story 3 and RoboCop.

Making 64-year-old Keaton agree for the role in the film is expected to be a big win for Sony and Marvel Studios. There are a number of other Academy Award winners who have appeared in one or the other Marvel films.

Directed by Jon Watt, Spider-man: Homecoming is scheduled for a July 7, 2017 release. The movie will feature stars Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei and Zendaya.
