Reports indicate that only recently, Microsoft offered a two-day discounts on sale of Surface Pro 4. But with the sale news fans and enthusiasts speculate if Microsoft will release its successor, Surface Pro 5, any time soon. The forthcoming model has been the talk of town for quite sometime and nothing has been made official about its launch or release so far. In fact, if latest rumors are to be believed, the new Surface Pro 5 will not even come out this year.

Recent reports suggest that the tech giant may be delaying its release until around early 2017. There have been several reports saying that the device will arrive in October or June this year. However, none of these reports have speculated the correct timeframes for the launch of Surface Pro 5.

Since Microsoft has already announced their next major Windows 10 update, Redstone 1, in June, it is not possible for the company to unveil its Surface Pro iteration in the same month. Same month debut for two important projects does not seem like a plausible strategy. So, for now, nothing is confirmed about the device launch which means that the fans will have to keep looking out for updates.

Even though nothing has been confirmed officially but rumors suggest that Surface Pro 5 will have Intel's Kaby Lake Processing Chip which will enhance CPU and GPU performance. This is also perhaps the reason why the device has been postponed until next year. If Microsoft is indeed using Kaby Lake processor, the device will not be launched anytime soon as the Intel Chip architecture is compatible with Redstone 2.
