Nearly three months has passed since Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon wrote a letter the NFL in a bid to have reinstated to the game. However, Gordon's future remains hazy as his reinstatement application still hangs in limbo.

It can be recalled that Gordon applied for reinstatement on June 20 after receiving a punitive indefinite suspension from the league for substance abuse violation which made him miss almost the entire 2015 season according to a previous report by ESPN.

According to insider reports, Gordon's predicament is 'status quo'. So far, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell declined on making final statements on the matter until an 'appropriate time'. He revealed that he already received an updated report on Gordon's case but the top NFL executive brass is still trying to come up with a decision.

"When I get more information (from the staff) we can decide what the next appropriate step is, whether it's me meeting with him or whether they've already met with him individually or whether others have met with him,'' Goodell said in a recent statement as quoted in a Cleveland.com report. "A lot of these (meetings) are also with other people outside our staff, who might be medical professionals.''

When asked about how the team would respond in the event of Gordon's reinstatement, the Browns noted that the team will still find a place for him on the roster- an acknowledgment of his athletic prowess and talent.

However, some of the team's top management already sounded weary due to an extremely long wait.

"I would just say probably enough Josh chatter," EVP Sashi Brown remarked as quoted by NFL.com. "I know he's intriguing but really for us, we're focused on the guys that are on our roster and if Josh comes back, great, and if he doesn't, we're ready.''
