According to recent speculations, "Battlefield 5" is expected to release this year. The fans can hardly contain their excitement as the hype around the game gains momentum.

Now that the release of "Battlefield 5" has been confirmed, industry insiders predict that this game will threaten sales of other first-person shooter games, especially the upcoming "Call of Duty" which is also coming out this year.

Activision and EA DICE are in direct competition this year as the top developers of first-person shooter games are releasing their most awaited games. However, Michael Pachter predicts that it is "Battlefield 5" that will reign on top of all the FPS game titles.

Pachter said in an exclusive interview that while the game is huge by itself, its popularity rests on the fact that there will no other big releases this year.

"I just think that there's less overall competition. Battlefield 5 itself will be great- it's just that last year there were five games that took 60 million units of sales- Halo, Fallout, Battlefront, Assassin's Creed, and Call of Duty," Pachter told the publication.

Meanwhile, the date "Battlefield 5" release has not been confirmed yet. Previous rumors indicate that the game will launch sometime in October. However, based on recent leaks, the latest information suggests that the possible title of the game is "Eastern Front," and the game will come out on December 6. So far, there is no official confirmation from the developer but it is possible that more details will be announced at E3.
