Forward Nick Young is apparently not going back to the hardcourt to play for the Lakers due to his apparent lack of mental toughness- a downward spiral for the embattled athlete after a dismal performance in the past season and a scandal that seemed to have sapped him of the will to play hard.

Young has been absent for the past 11 games in the season so it's quite logical for the franchise management to reduce the risk of contagion on the court by cutting him off the scene.

"It has nothing to do with the chemistry," head coach Byron Scott remarked as quoted by ESPN. "It has everything to do with just basketball. Right now, I know what he's going through, and I know it's hard on him. But he's not here with us, mentally, and there's no need for me to put him out there on the floor."

The dilemma for the franchise management is how to rid such liability off the roster considering that Young still has two years left on his contract. As reported by the Inquistr, Lakers still owe young $5.5 million for the 2016-17 season and $5.7 million for the 2017-18 season. Starting with the player's animosity with Scott and unproductive game stats, there are rumors of him being traded although it's unlikely if a team is interested to take him in. It's been publicly known that the team is shopping for Young's new owners but no news of any confirmed trade talk has come out from Lakers' front office.

Despite the scandal which revealed Nick Young's self-confessed adultery, rapper Iggy Azalea seems to have not been shaken by the revelation, at least publicly. Amid speculative reports over the couple's break-up, the rapper tweeted that the two are 'good' as reported by New York Daily News.

Meanwhile, a latest roundup from Movie News Guide suggests that Oklahoma City Thunder lead player and one-time Kevin Durant is aiming to join the LA Lakers this offseason although other reports hint of jumping on board with Houston Rockets.
