If there is one club in English football who are absolutely guaranteed to go on a major overhaul of the squad in the summer then that is Chelsea and following the appointment of former Juventus manager Antonio Conte, they are now looking to tie up deals for players who would substantially improve the first team. According to reports published by The Daily Mail, Chelsea are now in pursuit of Bayern Munich's Chilean central mifielder Arturo Vidal as they look to shore up the midfield as they seek to mount a serious title challenge after the embarrassment of the current season.

As pet the reports, Vidal has not really enjoyed his stay at Bayern Munich since moving to the Allianz Arena from Juventus following a £31 million deal. He has made it known that he would like to work under the management of his old Juventus manager Antonio Conte again and that is the reason why a move to Chelsea could be on the cards in the summer. However, it is important to point out that Bayern Munich consider him to be an integral part of their squad and after his match winning goal in the UEFA Champions League first leg game against Benfica, his importance in the squad has further risen. Bayern would not want to part with the player and they have no reason to either, since Vidal still has three years remaining in his current contract.

However, things can change quickly if Chelsea do come up with a bid that meets Bayern Munich's expectations and in addition to that, there is the Conte factor that can certainly swing the deal their way. Conte had earlier said, 'If I ever go to war I'd take Vidal with me.' and he will most certainly find himself in a war in the Premier League next season with the likes of Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and potentially Jose Mourinho competing against him for the Premier League title. Chelsea will most certainly benefit from the pedigree that Vidal would bring to their midfield following Nemanja Matic's disappointing performances this season.
