A call on March 31 at 7:45 a.m. was received by the police in order to probe into a criminal investigation in the Van Nuys, California area. The threat management section of LAPD, that probes harassment or stalking cases, is studying the case, according to an LAPD spokesperson

"Charlie Sheen is listed as a suspect in this investigation," the LAPD spokesperson says. "The victim's information is kept confidential due to the investigation, and the investigation is ongoing at this time."

While further details were not given by the cops, nor was the identification done, multiple tabloid reports suggest that the probe relates to his ex-fiancée Scottine Ross. She is an ex-porn star who assumed the name, Brett Rossi, under the allegation that he issued threats to her.

She sued Sheen in December, under the claim that he perpetrated "assault, battery, emotional distress, false imprisonment and negligence," said documents received by USA TODAY.

In last year's lawsuit against Sheen, Rossi alleged in court documents that he kept his HIV-positive status a secret from her during their relationship. They had remained engaged from November 2013 to October 2014.

The 26-year-old added that Sheen, 50, threatened her life, and talked about wanting "to murder people he was angry with" and executing a "hit" on her former husband.

She had added: "I'm scared he wants to kill me."

Sheen and his lawyer Martin D. Singer have turned down everything she said.

"Charlie Sheen intends to vigorously defend the lawsuit filed by Brett Rossi aka Scottine Ross. Numerous witnesses will dispute each and every claim made by Ms. Rossi," Singer said after the lawsuit was filed. "We are confident that Mr. Sheen will prevail in this action and also will recover significant damages against her in connection with a pending arbitration that was commenced months ago."
