By announcing that the latest book in the series, A Song of Ice and Fire, will be released only after Season 6 of Game of Thrones has culminated, author George R.R. Martin has allayed fears of the book ruining the suspense of the hugely popular series.

However it is entirely possible that the show might in turn give rise to some very important clues as to what can be expected from the book. Even though the creators of the show, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, have ensured that the series will not spoil the experience of reading the book, it is inevitable that certain important plot sequences will be revealed as Season 6 unravels.

Daenerys, one of the primary characters of the series, is expected to rise to power despite her captivity. The Khaleesi, who also has the powerful Drogon to aid her, is expected to break out of her captivity and make her way towards King's Landing where there exists a power vacuum. Daenerys, also called the Mother of Dragons, is anticipated to accomplish her mission of claiming the Iron Throne thus bringing the rule of Lannisters to an end and marking the return of her ancestors, the Targaryens.

This sequence of events will mean a war between Daenerys and the Lannisters which the latter is expected to lose as they are politically very weak at this juncture. With the demise of Tywin and the High Sparrow's threat looming over Queen Cersei, they are not in a position to wage war against Daenerys and the mighty Dothraki. The plot may also predict the demise of Cercei's remaining offspring.

Perhaps the most gripping mystery of all is the revelation of Jon Snow's secrets. Details regarding his death and resurrection and the identity of his bloodline might be revealed in Season 6, laying to rest one of the major mysteries in the series.

However these major events are handled in the series, it is highly impossible not to reveal what is intended to happen in the book, thereby threatening to spoil the experience of reading the last installment of the popular series.
