After six seasons of "The Walking Dead," it is painful to see how the show lacks creativity and is only faring well so far due to its loyal viewers. In the previous seasons, the show was truly great with greatness that deserved the popularity and lots more. Then came the time when the series hit a writer's block and reached a creative rut that was now evident in its tasteless finale.

For all these years, "The Walking Dead" has succeeded in garnering praise for its action, story, plot, character development and all the aesthetics that a show needs to stay on top of its game. It managed to surpass the genre of horror and become more of a zombie show. The critics were happy to call it one of the best shows because they made "the walking dead" a lot about living people than dead zombies.

Despite its stellar past and a slew of dedicated audience, the finale was like a sore spot. Somewhere along the way the show became incredibly limp and obviously manipulative. It is heartbreaking to see that the producers are getting away with only 12 minutes of sensible action out of 90 minutes and will still manage to get its viewers back to watch next season.

What started off as an excellent series, soon became a mess. The character development stopped and the changes were rushed. The characters who loathed each other in previous seasons were seen romantically involved. The season finale too was marred by inexplicable and shocking changes in the storyline making one think that they missed a few episodes in between, only you didn't.

This episode was nice for its entertainment value and the fact that it ended in a cliffhanger is something that didn't go well with the critics.

Critics say add that "The Walking Dead" may be a highly sought after show but it was much better than that, some time ago.
