The Denver Broncos is apparently scrambling to assemble a functional team as it the franchise busies itself in negotiations over roster acquisitions. Ironically, the team suffered a huge setback after gaining the Super Bowl championship.

It all started when Peyton Manning exited from the professional football scene following his retirement and the loss of quarterback successor Brock Osweiler to Houston Texans.

Desperately in need for a viable replacement at the quarterback position, the franchise is working tirelessly to reach a concrete agreement with Colin Kaepernick's owner, the San Francisco 49ers. For the Broncos, they spotted an opportunity in the 49ers star player after the 28-year-old athlete admitted that he already lost the enthusiasm to continue playing for his current team.

The San Francisco NFL franchise appeared to have responded mutually to Kaepernick's unhappy lot. As reported by the Christian Post, the ongoing talks between the Broncos and the 49ers is indicative of the latter's interest to dish him out for a reasonable trade.

In another roundup, San Francisco and Denver appeared to have already reached an understanding on the proposed trade although ongoing negotiations revolve mainly on wrapping up the details of the contract.

"San Francisco and Denver have the parameters of an agreement in principle on a trade for Colin Kaepernick, sources said, but before any deal can be completed, the quarterback and the Broncos still have to agree on a restructured contract, and the two sides have not been close," insider sources said as quoted in a Fansided report.

According reliable info acquired by ESPN, the current obstacle in the negotiations process reportedly stemmed from disagreement over which team should be made responsible to pay for the quarterback's $11.9 million for the next season. The Broncos offered to pay $7 million with the remaining $4.9 million shouldered by the Niners which the latter rejected so far. But Kaepernick is holding out as well to force the two teams to finalize the deal.

While Kaepernick appears to have regressed in his recent performance with the Niners, he may still have the talent to prove with his previous track record of bringing San Francisco to two championship games.
