The new episode of Saturday Night Live has garnered much praise from viewers and critics owing to the stellar performances of the show's new hosts.

While popular hosts like Jonah Hill did not perform very well, new hosts such as Larry David has proven his talent on the platform by exhibiting excellent comic timing, a natural acumen for mimicry and spectacular screen presence. Ariana Grande was another surprise hit on the show after she gathered accolades for her act.

Peter Dinklage was yet another new host favoured by viewers and critics alike. After gaining immense popularity for playing the role of Tyrion Lannister in HBO's Game of Thrones, Dinklage won hearts again as a host for SNL.

With themes that ranged from mafia meetings to space pants, the episode was a crazy hotchpotch of acts that worked largely owing to the originality and charm of the hosts than the power of the acts themselves. Dinklage is even reported to have arrived dressed as Winnie the Pooh, who has a face off with his cousin, Denny the Real regarding the various problems prevalent in the Hundred Acre Wood. The hosts have been praised for taking A.A. Milne's beloved characters and conveying an act of such an uncanny but hilarious nature. Dinklage also delivered some jokes about George R.R. Martin's speed of writing and the amount of skin show Game of Thrones indulges in. Taran Killiam and Cecily Strong were also praised for their act revolving around a floating corpse.

Leslie Jones, who shared the stage with Dinklage, has also received praise for her role as a manic but comic character. Dinklage played the foil to her act by pretending to be exactly the opposite. Jones also played many other characters on stage, including a dragon. Bobby Moynihan, who portrayed George R.R. Martin to hilarious effect, also received praise for his act.

Although the episode is reported to have begun in a lackluster way, both critics and fans agree that the show picked up very well and ended in an extremely satisfactory manner.
