Apple has been awfully quiet about their forthcoming product updates, releases, specs and other information. All that is known is based on speculations and rumors making it difficult to know what MacBook 2016 has in store for its fans.

Regardless of all the hush-hush around launch of MacBook Pro and Air 2016 variants, there are some things that are almost certain such as SkyLake Processor that will power up the machine. As a result, users can expect enhanced performance improvements, more battery life, powerful graphics, 4K output and lots more.

According to the rumors, some say that MacBook will continue with Air variants this year. However, as Apple is pushing towards redesigning its MacBook, the Air line looks like will be either replaced or completely removed. If Apple indeed plans to discontinue its Air models, it means that the new one will fit into its $1000 laptop range to replace it.

MacBook line might also stop with their Retina Display technology with further models. Laptops are now moving away from the 1080p displays into higher, better resolution display. Even though the MacBook range sports Retina display, they have not been able to attain the standards of highest PPI. Improving display is definitely on the cards for MacBook line. It is not only about the resolution but there is a possibility of OLED display with the upcoming models.

If Apple will indeed kill Air iteration, that leaves the consumers to choose between 12-inch, 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook. It is possible that the users would like to have the benefits of a larger screen without paying hefty premium for a high-end pro model.

MacBook was announced last year in a press conference in March and it is possible that the Mac updates will also come around this year when new range is unveiled. The most likely date for MacBook 2016 launch is WWDC in June.
