Microsoft's app count in the Windows store? Let's Find Out

It is now confirmed that Windows 10 is now installed on over 270 million devices.Arguably an impressive record for Microsoft at an event they shared, they are yet to share any updates on the amount of apps and games along with other content currently existing in the Windows Store right now.

The store for Windows platforms had over 500 000 apps. In September 2015 Microsoft decided to update the numbers. It is now estimated that there are over about more than 650 000 apps for all their hardware in the Windows store along with about hundred more additions per day.

Although it's been a long time, Microsoft are yet to update the numbers even in spite of their biggest event in a calendar year which also happens to commence for developers too which we feel is a good time to get back on those.

Considering how well, Microsoft hardware are performing right now, Microsoft however boasts about their store seeing an increase in turn-over for their apps usage compared to the previous versions of their softwares. All we are doing is hope for a better result.

Even according to their reports that if about hundreds of apps are being added to their stores, that would be about a million apps by now. After it was pretty clear that Apple and Google play stores have already surpassed about 1.5million apps last year itself, it might be possible that Microsoft are avoiding a direct comparison.

But however, Microsoft should now announce about the numbers since the time is right anyway. Hulu last month launched its apps for Windows platforms, now available on smartphones, tablets and PCs. Twitter are also reportedly following the directions with now adopting to universal windows platform development to Windows 10 mobile.

Microsoft however back then had assured about arrival of Facebook and Instagram apps but are still keeping its user base waiting since its already five months past the deadline. The windows store however is still lagging behind and it might never even make the mark. Microsoft are adamant on letting all its app run on a wide range of devices but now all it needs to do is attract developers and excite them.
