The Good Wife' season spoilers: Alicia Wants a Divorce, Chris Hints at Potential Reunion

"The Good Wife," a popular show on CBS is gearing up for a season finale with Alicia Florick's final words, "I want a divorce," muttered to her estranged husband, Peter. With these words, Alicia revealed what the fans have been waiting to hear all along.

This moment of climax came when Alicia discovered that Jason, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Peter, her current lover, had a confrontation when Peter found Jason half clad in Alicia's apartment.

Peter and Alicia have had the most complicated marriage and has been so for the seven years of the show. Their marriage faced series of blows throughout the series, first one being when Peter's sex scandal came to surface. Since then, their union has been marred by various hardships, mostly because Peter's imprisonment and his illicit affair with Kalinda. Alicia also started a relationship with Will. Regardless of their issues, the couple stayed married and have reconciled numerous times over the years.

In a recent interview, Chris Noth, playing Peter on the show, spoke about their confrontation and said, "It brings up very primal feelings, let's just put it that way."

"It appears that they come to the end of the line with their relationship in that fight," the actor said. "You feel like there's nowhere else for them to go but I think they've been there before. They always teeter on the edge."

"The road has been long and hard on them and I think there's an acceptance that they might have outgrown the marriage, but we'll see," he told THR.

In the next episode of "The Good Wife," Alicia and Lucca will travel together to help an NSA agent in Canada being held by customs, while Peter dealing with his potential arrest.

"The Good Wife" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
