Mac fans pinned their hopes to get a glimpse of the new MacBook Pro at the recently concluded Apple spring media event. But they were in for a big disappointment when there was no mention of the next generation of MacBook Pro. Instead, the Cupertino-based giant unveiled only a handful of devices namely the iPhone SE, smaller screen-sized iPad Pro and the latest Apple Watch straps.

Obviously, the main question looming on everyone's mind is when will Apple's powerful laptops, namely the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air be released?

In the past, there had been consistent speculations of the said devices due for release on March 21 as Apple started giving generous discounts in anticipation of the slated product launch this month as reported by Parent Herald.

But Mac loyalists may no longer have to wait much longer as DigiTimes revealed that the new MacBooks are slated for a scheduled market release at the end of this year's second quarter. Other known notebook brand vendors like Dell and Lenovo have likewise prepared their own line of ultrathin notebooks to compete against Apple's around the same time.

With the second quarter ending on June 30, the new line of Macs are expected to be introduced to the public sometime between June 13 and 17 during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2016). Other estimates could extend the rumored release to July.

Rumored Specs and Features

Latest roundups from MobiPicker suggest that the new MacBook Pro would have Intel's sixth generation Skylake processor. Currently, nearly all of Apple's high-end rivals wasted no time embracing the Intel's most sophisticated chipset to date. Apple is likely to do the same for its MacBook lineups. The Cupertino-based tech heavyweight may have also boosted its laptops' battery life in the new Mac devices. Lastly, if the swirling rumors were true, a touchscreen and detachable features may add a little more to its attractiveness.
