Expressing admiration at the sweet request of the mother, Nia said that John's mother was the loveliest person and her memory is alive in her son.

It is notable that the sequel is coming after a gap of 14 years and much of the previous cast will be seen along with some new faces. Vardalo is extremely happy at the way things have turned up with the entire cast supporting her for the sequel and coming along without any hassles.

She told People, that shooting My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 felt like a family reunion as the cast was very eager to sign onto the project. Revealing an interesting anecdote, she said that when she called John Corbett for Part 2, she naughtily asked him if he feels like kissing her again. The response took her by delight as he said 'Always Baby'.

Well, the sequel takes up from where the prequel ended. It will deal with the parenting challenges of Toula and Ian as the couple's daughter prepares to go to college.
