It was the one thing that nobody thought could happen; Jim Bob and Michele Duggar fighting. New reports suggest the couple is headed for a split thanks to their eldest son Josh Duggar.

Josh Duggar made news last year after confessing to molesting minors. He was forced into rehab for sex addiction after his name came up in the Ashley Madison scandal. His exit from six months rehab earlier this year was expected to cheer the criticism-hit Duggar household but reports suggest some family members are wary of having Josh around their children.

Now, new reports claim that mamma and papa Duggar have differing opinions about son Josh's misconduct. While Josh's parents want to be seen as standing by their son, the inside story is contrasting.

Hollywood Life quoted a family insider saying that Jim Bob thinks Josh is cured while Michelle understands the discomfort of family members.

"Jim Bob believes that Josh is completely cured, and Michelle, while she would never admit it publicly, understands why some family members don't want Josh around them or their children," the insider said. "It's splitting the family apart."

The popular '19 Kids and Counting' which TLC had taken off air last year, boosted the Duggar family's fortunes. The show was removed after Josh Duggar's misconduct became public. Other reports claim that it is the loss of family's cash cow that has caused differences between Jim Bob and Michelle.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Michelle is forgiving but Jim Bob wants to keep Josh out of family affairs in the hope that it helps his family reclaim lost face.

While it remains to be ascertained which of the parents are sympathetic to Josh, reports of a conflict between the 'perfect American couple' have appeared before. Jim Bob and Michelle argued over Josh's rehab program but the latest argument has been the termed the worst in their three decades of marriage.
