With the success of The Force Awakens, the Rian Johnson-directed 'Star Wars Episode 8' is currently a work in progress but has since been widely discussed online following its announcement.

As the movie crew prepares for the filming of the upcoming sci-fi installment, Director Rian Johnson is being sued for contract violation by his former agent, Brian Dreyfuss, after being shut off from lucrative Star Wars franchise deal as reported by Christian Post.

As the report goes, Dreyfuss took the initiative of taking a legal action against Johnson for what he perceived as a breach of an implied contract between them.

Dreyfuss claimed that he was supposed to have the 10% commission from all Johnson's project deals.

Apart from Johnson, Producer Ram Bergman was also named defendant in the complaint for 'orchestrating much of Johnson's business life' and 'adopted a course of conduct to marginalize Dreyfuss and limit his influence' according to Hollywood Reporter.

Nevertheless, Johnson firmly explains that the complainant was already fired even before the start of his Lucasfilm projects adding that Dreyfuss is just trying to cash in to his recent success.

Meanwhile, an unconfirmed leaked report featured on the Movie News Guide says that 'Jurassic Park' actress Laura Dern is included on the roster of undisclosed characters in the upcoming installment of the sci-fi franchise. Dern's leaked role was that of an unnamed officer in the Resistance whose presence creates a power struggle among rival factions within the movement.

In another update, the voice behind mysterious First Order head honcho Supreme Leader Snoke, Andy Serkis, hasn't laid his eyes on the script yet despite being an important part of the project.

"Well that's because I don't know anything.... I'm due to be filming and I haven't even seen the script yet," revealed Serkis as quoted by BBC Newsbeat.
