Sony Shuts Down Driverclub

Sony has planned to shut down its widespread and longstanding developer "Evolution studios" as a plan of massive restructure according to one of the reports.

The famed developers were behind the franchises like the troubled "motorclub" which were a part of inevitable delays and problems and even resulted in losses in jobs for about more than fifty people just a year ago since it tried to refocus on Driveclub being a service.

Although the tech-giant is unclear on instances which lead to the closure, the shutdown was a part of short and medium term plans devoting towards a stronger and positive motion forward. Sony however promises on placing employees in different companies as and when it can but the company's also aware that it may lose some serious talent. Driveclub was hyped by both Sony and Evolution studios portraying it to be the next big thing.

It is speculated that the closure might be due to over-depending on a massively failed single project. Speculated to be one of the highlights for PS4 launch line up, numerous delays pushed it out by nearly a year and the initial release was actually disappointing and messed up.

The online features weren't really functioning properly and there was nothing to praise in general. Basically users were delivered with an unfinished and uncaring product. Sony in their statement released have explained regarding the closure of the studios explaining about how the resources in a competitive landscape can lead to production in high quality content creation which are innovative with a vision in commercially viable products.

They also have mentioned that all ongoing projects and upcoming plans will be axed in order to induce changes in the structure. They did regret the closure leading to compulsory redundancies and that they would accept their decision in losing high caliber employees but they were also confident in moving to a stronger position forward in offering the best possible content in quality to all their consumers.

The studios who were into the field for about a decade, were the inception of franchises like Motor storm, drive club and world rally championship.
