Right now the details related to Season 4 of BBC/PBS' detective series "Sherlock" are being whispered. However, so far they are only rumors. One whisper is that everyone can get to see the third Holmes brother in the small screens.

Tom Hiddleston will play Sherrinford, a favourite not only with fans but also by co-creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat.

But Gatiss was not so sure whether he would be able to get Hiddleston or not, as he was in various other roles such as "The Night Manager" and "Kong: Skull Island". Some people say that he wants to play the next James Bond.

"I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology, I love the whole thing. If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity. And I'm very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly," Hiddleston said.

Gatiss, however, feel that they can manage it, even as Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the main character, is shooting "Doctor Strange" at present.

It was during Season 3 that the third brother was referenced. Sherlock's older brother Mycroft was talking about punishment. Politicians addressing him may be biased, as he is linked with Sherlock. But for that, he answered, "You know what happened with the other one."

Still, it is not really clear whether Hiddleston will join the series or not.

Moffat announced some more cast members: Martin Freeman as the trustworthy sidekick Dr. John Watson, Amanda Abbington as his wife, Mary Watson and Unna Stubbs as Mrs. Hudson.

The plot will deal with significant narratives about life, results and a tragedy: "Chickens come to roost. It's dark in some ways - obviously it's great fun and a Sherlock Holmes romp and all that - but there's a sense of... things... coming back to bite you. It's not a safe, sensible way to live. It's hilarious and exhilarating some days, but some days it's going to be bloody frightening," Moffat said.

Season 4 of "Sherlock" will be released in January 2017.
