Rumors have been circulating lately about a possible Phil Jackson comeback to LA Lakers after speculations of the Zen Master's departure from New York Knicks as one of its executives.

Lakers is currently in a pitiful situation despite being one of the most proudest franchises in NBA history, five of which were all linked to Jackson's masterful dominance of the hardcourt as its erstwhile headcoach.

A rumored scenario was tweeted by Bleacher Report's Howard Beck saying Lakers may have to stay put with Scott for an entire year as the franchise awaits Jackson's return should the Zen Master invoke his Knick's contract opt out clause.

"Theory floating around league: Lakers keep Byron 1 more year, just in case Phil opts out and returns to L.A. and wants to pick the coach," Howard Beck of Bleacher Report tweeted as quoted by CBS Sports.

As reported by Fansided, Jackson's suggested breakup with Knicks was fueled by an opt-out clause allowing him to get out of the contract after the next season. This means that the 70-year-old hall famer could ditch East Coast for the West Coast not as a coach but as a corporate executive with the power to select Scott's successor who would turn the team's dismal misfortunes into a miraculous recovery.

The embattled incumbent Lakers headcoach is in the second year of his four-year contract with West Coast franchise. But as the team dives for its worst performance in its franchise history, some potential candidates for his replacement are starting to emerge.

As reported by Lakers Nation blog report, all the above-mentioned names are mostly looking for jobs or are working as analysts for the league except for Walton who currently serves as assistant coach to Steve Kerr who is coaching the Golden State Warriors.
