George Clooney may have had the license to kill years earlier but the "lady killer" actor now officially has the license to marry!

Clooney and his fiance Amal Alamuddin have reportedly received their marriage license in London. People Magazine states that Alamuddin appeared for a brief interview at the London Town Hall but her handsome beau wasn't with her - he wasn't required to be there because he is not a UK resident.

A notice of the permit was apparently posted outside the Chelsea Old Town Hall, which stated that the couple will ties the knot in Italy. However, it was there only for a short while.

It makes complete sense that the gorgeous couple chose to exchange vows in Italy as Clooney has a villa at Lake Como, where Alamuddin's family was seen spending time with their soon-to-be in-laws.

Clooney proposed to Alamuddin in April this year saying he was "marrying up." Since news of his marriage broke, several tabloids have reported rumors and gossip including one which stated Alamuddin's mother was opposed to the marriage due to religious reasons.

Clooney got defensive and furious and wrote a letter calling the publication "dangerous."

"I seldom respond to tabloids, unless it involves someone else and their safety or well being. The Daily Mail has printed a completely fabricated story about my fiancée's mother opposing our marriage for religious reasons. It says Amal's mother has been telling 'half of Beirut' that she's against the wedding. It says they joke about traditions in the Druze religion that end up with the death of the bride," he wrote.

Several other speculations are doing the rounds like Brad Pitt would be Clooney's best man and that the wedding will be covered by Vogue Magazine!
