The cast of the popular show The Walking Dead recently finished shooting the season finale of Season 6. In interviews regarding the experience, the cast expressed distress over the darkness the script entailed. It is reported that the cast found the experience harrowing and difficult to execute. The eagerly awaited season finale is rumored to contain an appearance by Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the comic book character Negan. Negan, an antagonistic character created by Robert Kirkman, is presumed to be revealed as the source behind the mayhem caused in the current Season.

The lead actors on the show including Greg Nicotero and Andrew Lincoln claimed to have felt nausea and insomnia after reading the script. They also reportedly arrived late on the sets due to the anxiety caused by the dark nature of the script. While talking about the script Nicotero reveals, "We're still playing around with the pacing of that episode. I can tell you that the last episode, the pace and the build of what happens from the teaser to the end, it's a pretty precipitous drop to a very dark place."

Ross Marquand shares Nicotero's opinion and compares the episode to cult movie The Usual Suspects while claiming that the episode has a very high potential that the actors must tap into as much as they can. Fellow actor Lauren Cohen reported her reluctance to go to the set on the scheduled date because of the anxiety caused after reading the script. She added that the experience was both raw and hard making it difficult to forget. Another actor, Melissa McBride, compared the experience to falling into a black hole echoing the sentiments of her co-actors.

The Season is currently at a juncture where the main characters are in grave danger from an unnamed antagonist which is anticipated to be revealed as Negan in the Season finale.
