The Brits can and will never move on from David Bowie and has paid tribute to him, once more, in this year's 36th Brit Awards at the London's O2 arena.

Following Lady Gaga's tributeat the Grammy's, Lorde, Gary Oldman, and Annie Lennox also did their rendition of the legend's songs. They also offerred speeches later during the show, Entertainment Weekly reported.

During the segment, the stage came to life with a montage of David Bowie's photographs and a welcoming band that plays snippets of tracks like Space Oddity," "Let's Dance," and "Fame."

Then, comes along Lorde who sang Bowie's 'Life On Mars' amidst red lights in a subdued atmosphere.

The video has become trending and has grabbed the attention of Bowie's son, Duncan Jones who praised the musician's triburte. "Finally found the links to tonight's Brits. Just... beautiful. Thank you," the director wrote.

Jone's tweet was read and received well by Mike Garson, David Bowie's keyboardist who also performed during the tribute.

"Thank you Duncan. So glad you enjoyed it. that means a lot to the band," he wrote as mentioned by The Guardian.

Guy Pratt who has been working with the classic rock band Pink Floyd also played the bass guitar for the Bowie tribute during the Brit Awards. In a Facebook post, he expressed how happy he was remembering the icon and playing the musicians that night.

"So you know that Lorde/ Bowie thing on The Brits? Well I was the bass player for all the rehearsals right up to this afternoon when Gail Ann Dorsey got in from San Francisco. Amazing honour to play with that lovely bunch, but talk about a wind up."

This is the second time that Jones reacted positively on the tribute for his late father. The first one was during Lady Gaga's upbeat Bowie megamix for the Grammy's.

"Overexcited or irrational, typically as the result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused.' Damn it! What IS that word!?" he tweeted that time.

Meanwhile, Adele is the woman of the night for the 36th Brit Awards as she bagged four awards: the British female solo artist, British single, British global success and British album of the year awards for her chart-topping album released this fall, 25, Billboard reported.

"To come back after so long away and be so warmly received is really lovely. Thank you so much. And to all the other girls that are nominated, thank you for letting me be in your company. You're all amazing," the 27-year old singer told the crowd.
