Expressing on Facebook will be more emotion-loaded after Wednesday. The social media giant launched Reactions globally after a year of testing. Users can now describe through an emoji what they feel about a post.

Gizmodo reported that users can now choose 'love', 'wow', 'haha', 'sad' and 'angry' reactions. The new feature was a result of user demands for greater expression instead of the plain 'Like' button, which has been retained. When users hold down the Like button on mobile or hover over it on desktop, Reactions are revealed.

"We have been testing Reactions in a few markets since last year, and have received positive feedback so far," Facebook's Product Manager Sammi Krug, said. "Today, we're excited to offer it to everyone who uses Facebook around the world."

Accordingn to Tech Crunch posts will display total reaction count with icons of popular reactions.

Though Facebook announced global launch, Forbes reported that the company will take few days to make the feature available to all of its users as the latest app update has to be downloaded for the feature. The company meanwhile has said that it will keep listening to users.

"We also looked at how people are already commenting on posts and the top stickers and emoticons as signals for the types of reactions people are already using to determine which reactions to offer," Krug said.

"We will continue learning and listening to feedback to make sure we have a set of reactions that will be useful for everyone."
