Shakira wants her Disney character, Gazelle to have as much as characteristics as she had, including having wider hips and a curvier look.

This year, the Colombian singer took another venture not only as a singer but also the voice behind the new Disney character of the upcoming movie, Zootopia.

"I love that she is opinionated and she cares about her people. She feels she has a social responsibility. I feel like her and I have a common denominator. When the directors told me about her I said 'That is me', but she was too slim so I asked them to give her more curves and put more meat on the bones. She needs bigger hips so she has them now," she told reporters as mentioned by Independent.

The Hips Don't Lie singer hinted about her project by debuting a picture of Gazelle on her Instagram last month. Last week, she also took a selfie of herself holding a Gazelle toy, Komononews said.

"Sasha likes Gazelle so much, he's been eating her fringe skirt!! / A Sasha le gusta tanto Gazelle que le ha estado comiendo su faldita de flecos!!" she captioned the photo.

Shakira further elaborated similarities between her and her character.

"A lot of the details are mine - the eye color, the eyelashes, the hair. I felt she needed more hips ... and I asked them for more and they did it!" she told the Spanish publication, El Pais.

"That skirt is very me," she further added.

In social media, she posted for the first time, her single Try Everything, a soundtrack of Zootoopia on her 39th birthday on February 2.

Though, she has been in many years using her voice and creativity in the music industry, Shakira described her new venture as something different and an entirely different process.

"It's a process in which you have certain creative licence but different to the kind you have as a performer. I thought they were going to animate before I recorded the voice but it was the opposite; they recorded my voice to capture the emotions of the scene and then animated the character to my voice to reproduce the expressions. It was interesting for me."

Shakira is also behind the animated bird character in Angry Bird POP and also appeared on September last year in the Angry Birds Friends app, according to Hollywood Life.

Zootopia will hit US theaters on March 4.
