Days before the Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga shared in Snapchat that she is getting a David Bowie tattoo on her ribcage as a sign of her deep respect for the late artist.

In a picture in New York Daily News, Gaga bared her upper torso to Hollywood's distinguished tattoo artist, Mark Mahoney as he inks David Bowie's Aladdin Sane's face. The tattoo session took place in Mahoney's West Hollywood shop in California.

The eccentric singer is slated to honor the British artist in the Grammys this week and the permanent ink says everything on how she adores the musician who recently died of cancer after releasing his Starman album.

"This was the image that changed my life," she wrote in one of her posts.

A video of the whole tattooing process was posted on her social media page as she wrote, "Hail Mary full of grace Saint Bowie," she wrote as mentioned in Refinery29.

This year is filled with surprises for the 29-year old singer. Her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl gained her a standing ovation from the crowd, ET Online said.

Meanwhile, in this year's Grammy's, Gaga will be joined by two of today's top-selling hit makers, Taylor Swift and Adel who are also set to perform tributes in the Grammys for legendary figures like Lionel Richie and the late Natalie Cole, Scott Weiland, Lemmy Kilmister, Maurice White and blues icon B.B. King, according to Cleveland.com

Rihanna will also give a taste of her newly-released Anti album. Other performers like Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Carrie Underwood, Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding and Tori Kelly are also expected in the star-studded ceremony.
