Coldplay with Beyonce and Bruno Mars are this year's performers for the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday. As the trio wowed the crowd with their 12-minute performance, sources pointed out some highlights that surely one should not miss.

Beyonce and Bruno Mars are strategically chosen to perform with the British band considering their previous performances in the Super Bowl 50-Beyonce in 2013 and Bruno Mars in 2014, ABC News recalled.

Coldplay began the performance with their big hits Viva La Vida" with some catchy tunes from "Paradise. Their performance is accompanied with indie colors flashed around the stage and the parade of an ensemble of young people carrying violins and dancers.

However, Fox News commented that the big crowd in the Super Bowl has drowned Chris Martin's energy and the band 'seems lost in their surroundings' with all the props and colors. Also, Martin's gesture of talking to his bandmates instead of entertaining the crowd and fueling more energy is also seen as a pitfall in their performance.

On the other hand, many had praised Beyonce's performance on her new single, 'Formation' even she is not the lead performer of the event.

Formation, itself, is a reaffirmation of the Black community's victory as well as Bey's feminist stance-a subject that had easily won the American crowd. Also, the songstress' costume reminiscent of Michael Jackson's style further outstaged Coldplay's indie attitude, The Guardian said.

Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson also took the crowd with Uptown Funk, a song that has been too familiar to be the people's anthem.

It was followed by another Coldplay performance of Fix You, the emotional song seen as something that reminded the audience of deceased performers-Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and James Brown who also had their own Super Bowl moments in past years.

The three performers reappeared together on stage as they sang their finale, Purple Rain, with a transformation of the stage showing the captions 'Believe in Love' that reminds sources of the US's recent milestone of passing the law on same-sex marriage.

Earlier in that event, Lady Gaga also sang the Star-Spangled Banner.
