The hype created by Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge unleased a fury of madness as tech buffs try endlessly to verify the so-called 'leaked reports' about the features of the upcoming Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge swirling in rumor-land.

A purported February release date is getting fans upped and excited as prospective buyers try to make up their minds based on the information available to them. But it's wiser to take everything with a grain of salt until an official word from the Galaxy-maker comes out.

So, what do we have so far?

According to an article at The Verge, Samsung's flagship handsets Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will inherit a number of identical characteristics from the earlier but tremendously successful versions.

As one of the most hit gadgets last year, S6 and S6 Edge were a result of an overhaul shift-up of Samsung's basic mobile handset design so the presumption is that massive tweaks are unlikely. But we can expect the new models to offer features that will surely get consumers lining up outside the stores.

In an article penned by Evan Blass for the Venture Beat, the following are the new features that fans have been asking for:

  1. Micro-SD slots with external capacity up to 200GB.
  2. 5.5-inch curved display
  3. Improved battery capacity from up from 2550mAh and 2600mAh to 3000mAh and 3600mAh for the S7 and S7 edge, respectively.
  4. A system-on-a-chip internals using an in-house designed Exynos 8 Octa 8890 that provides 4 high-performance 2.3GHz cores as well as 4 power-efficient 1.6GHz cores.
  5. A supposedly downgraded 12-megapixel camera from S6 generation's 16 megapixels but with an enhanced f/1.7 lens aperture better than S6's f/1.9.

Apart from the foregoing tweaks, a fresh rumor reported by Tech Times mentioned about 'seventeen plus hours of video playback' fueled by longer battery life.

So far, these are the scooped but unconfirmed updates until Samsung releases an official statement.
