A Frenchman was arrested on Thursday after authorities allegedly found two handguns, ammunition and a copy of the Koran in his suitcase.

The 28-year-old man was reportedly trying to check into a two-person room at a hotel near Paris's Disneyland in Seint-et-Marne when his suitcase was x-rayed. He was detained by the security at the hotel and reportedly did not put up any resistance.

During the suitcase search, the officials came up with two automatic pistols, 20 cartridges, two magazines and a Koran, several media outlets reported.

The man is a French citizen who was born in Lagny but lives in Paris. Prior to his arrest, he was reportedly not on the French security forces' radar, France Info reported.

According to a report from Europe 1, via USA TODAY, a woman, who was with the man, had fled from Hotel New York immediately after they were approached by security guards. The police later arrested a woman in the Paris who they believed was the female suspect. The woman, however, was released when the authorities determined that she had no ties with the suspect.

FOX News and other outlets reported that the female suspect, presumably the man's girlfriend, was arrested. She did not appear to be armed.

The initial elements of the investigation are not pointing to terrorism, The Guardian reported. Local authorities are in charge of the case. No one was injured during the arrest.

France is still under a state of emergency after the Islamic State carried out mass shootings and bombings that killed 130 people on Nov. 13 in Paris.
