Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, is aiming to return in two to three weeks.

Kerr, who led the Warriors to an NBA Championship title last season in his first year as a head coach, has missed the start of this season due to complications from his back surgery. Kerr was dealing with a lot of pain and headaches, which forced him to take a break.

"What I've learned is that I miss it. I'm still hoping in the next two to three weeks to be back on the bench," Kerr said.

After weeks of rest and rehabilitation, Kerr has been feeling significantly better. He attended the team practices on Monday and Tuesday, and was also present at Wednesday's shootaround. Despite not being with the team during the games, Kerr is still very much involved with the game plan.

"It's great having him around, obviously," interim coach Luke Walton said reported by the AP via U.S. News and World Report. "He's a phenomenal coach. The players respect him. The players love playing for him. So, it's nice to have him back out on the court, pointing out things here and there, doing some coaching, and putting us through some drills. I think lifts the spirit of everyone - the players and the other staff."

Walton added that he will be prepared for whatever Kerr wants to do.

"This is obviously Steve's team," Walton said. "The more he can do, the better...Obviously we'll continue to encourage him to do as much as he wants when he's with us. But as far as thinking about transition back, that's not going to be beneficial until I know for certain, or we as a staff, that Steve's going to be taking over again. We don't know when that will be. So we're still preparing the same for not having him with us."

The team has stated before that they will not create a timeline for Kerr's return. Instead, they will wait for the coach to tell them when he is healthy enough to come back.

In the meantime, the Warriors will continue their domination of the league. Under Walton's lead, the Warriors are 25-1. Their only loss was to the Milwaukee Bucks, who they will be playing today.

The Warriors - Bucks rematch will start at 10:30 p.m. in Oracle Arena.
