Indian actress Gauahar Khan was slapped by a male audience member during a TV taping of Raw Star, an Indian singing competition show, police reported. Khan, who hosts the show, was filming the season finale at Mumbai's Film City in Goregaon when 24-year-old Akil Malik allegedly attacked her.

"Actresses are the face of society and they should not wear skirts and short clothes as they make youngsters get attracted to them sexually. These days, boys who are minors are also committing crimes such as rape and molestation and many of them keep obscene photographs of actresses in their pockets," Malik supposedly said according to India.com. "If actresses stop wearing short clothes, crime will decrease."

The Aarey Sub police stated that the Malik disapproved of Khan's short skirt. He added that he did not like how Khan was dancing along with the racy music. According to E News, the police will arrest Malik and register this case "under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of Indian Penal Code." Khan's statement will also be recorded in detail.

Prior to the altercation, Malik was reportedly heckling Khan from his seat. The two of them exchanged a few words before Malik supposedly slapped her as she made her way out. Immediately after the incident, the security ran and pinned down Malik before handing him over to the police.

"It was chaos after the security pulled the man away," a source told the Hindustan Times. "Gauahar was shocked and was crying a lot. A stunned Gauahar didn't understand what happened. Though the shooting was stopped, Gauahar took a break of an hour to gather her bearings and then reported back on stage to finish the leftover one-hour shoot."

Here is the clip that surfaced showing a shaken Khan. The actual incident was not recorded.

Khan won Bigg Boss 7 last year and is also known for her role as a supporting actress in the 2012 film, Ishaqzaade.
