The Balkan countries including Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia, said that they will close their borders too if the Germans or any other country in Europe do it to stop the refugees from coming in. They further added that they will not allow the immigrants to settle in the Balkans if the other countries don't allow it. Boiko Borisov, Bulgarian Prime Minister, released his decision following his meeting with his counterparts in Romania and Serbia in Sofia ahead of the summit to be held between the leaders of European Union, says Yahoo News.

This episode has highlighted a difference of opinion between the states of European Union about the issue of handling the immigrant situation that are fleeing from the war-torn nations of Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq. "The three countries, we are standing ready, if Germany and Austria close their borders, not to allow our countries to become buffer zones. We will be ready to close borders," said Borisov to the reporters. "We will not expose our countries to the devastating pressure of millions that would come." Romanian Prime Minister, Victor Ponta, said that this is the unanimous decision of the three countries and will remain the same when they meet the EU leaders to discuss the migrant crisis in the Balkans on Sunday. There are over thousands of people that are trapped in the Balkans trying to reach Germany. Ponta Added that "We carry out our obligations, we are in solidarity with all of Europe, but the responsibility cannot be put with just some countries. "If there are countries which close their borders, or build fences, then we have the right to defend ourselves in a timely manner", as reported by First Post.

Hungary, Romania's neighboring country is already closing themselves off to the migrants and have built a fence to keep the refugees from entering their country along with Croatia. They are also prompting Slovenia to follow suit, said a report in BBC.
