The internet is fizzing with the latest news of Pepsi entering the mobile handset market with a launch of a smart phone. Pepsico has put the rumors to rest by confirming the news. The images and the detailed specs of the budget handset have already hit the internet and the phone will be called Pepsi P1. The handset and the accessories will be launched in China in just a few months, reported Daily Mail. The handset will have 5.5-inch screen along with a finger print scanner. The 13 MP camera is also said to be a part of this low cost handset. As per the Pepsico Spokesman, the company is in the final talks with the licensing brand to introduce their line of phones into the Chinese market. For now, the phone will only be available in China.

According to Reddit, the phone's features include Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, 1080p Screen that will be 5.5-inch wide, 1.7 GHz Processor, 2GB RAM, internal storage of 16 GB, 3000 MaH battery life and 13 MP camera. The cost of the handset is tentatively priced at $200 as per the rumors.

Even though the Food and Beverages brand is exploring the mobile handset market, they do not plan to enter the manufacturing just yet, says Pepsico Spokeswoman in an email. Since it is only going to be available in China, the effort seems similar to the globally licensed accessories and apparels, as reported by Newsfb. The spokeswoman did not reveal any more information about the licensing partner or any other details about the handset. This news was first reported by Mobipicker on 11th October that Pepsi Co will be launching a phone soon. The specs are expected to be decent but not very high end, reported Hubii.
