There is a common misconception that sex after heart attack can lead to another one. However, in a recent study published in the American College of Cardiology proves otherwise. According to the German researchers, the heart attack patient is just as susceptible to another heart attack by brisk walking and climbing the stairs as indulging in sexual activity. Even though in the study of 10 years 100 heart attacks and strokes have been reported but none of them were linked linked with sexual activity. Only 0.7% of the total number of test subjects had sex an hour before their heart attack, reports Daily Mail.

However, a 2012 study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine reveal a different story for those who are being unfaithful. If you are having an affair and if you have sex soon after your heart attack, you are likely to suffer from sudden coital death. This is especially the case if you are indulged in sexual activity with anyone other than your wife or partner, says Buffalo Breeze. This is mainly because the adrenaline stimulated by sex is heightened when the partner is new, says Dr Mark Knapton, associate medical director of the British Heart Foundation. It is much like watching a Football match right after a heart attack. This too has been attributed to be one of the causes that leads to emergency calls due to cardiac problems.
