GTA fans were literally taken for a ride after watching a GTA 6 trailer, which turned out to be a hoax.

Ever since GTA 5 released, rumors of the next installation have been doing the rounds, with some claiming the game could release as early as next year. Consensus among most fans is the game won't release until 2017 or 2018 if it indeed does, given past release timeline. That however did not stop one recently released video which claims to show a GTA VI's search engine, from fooling fans.

According to IB Times, the video claimed the game would release in 2017, set in the Vice City. The video also showed location shots from the game that looked too realistic to be true. This was the first giveaway.

An avid Youtuber MrBossFTW called the bluff by pointing out the sloppy English in the video, among other glitches. As Metro reports, the teaser got the spelling of Rockstar wrong! That has not stopped gamers from wishing the next game actually has cutting-edge graphics as seen in the fake video!

Despite rampant speculation about a new GTA game, Rockstar has not made an official comment. Word has it the game maker is working on GTA Online. It is not known if a second edition or a DLC is in the offing.
